Al-Aqsa Islamic Society Delves Into their Archives

Working together in South Kensington, we’ve become so close with our neighbors at the Al-Aqsa Islamic Society. Opening their doors to host community scanning salons, they’ve helped us collect dozens, maybe hundreds, of photographs from our neighbors. We’ve also gotten together at picnics and paint days, making new memories with the people who share our home.

As it turns out, they have a photographic treasure trove of their own. This powerful Prayer Hall photo of the Men’s Masjid Germantown was taken at Eid-Al Fitr in 1996, and perfectly sums up the warmth and community of this congregation.
